Chapter Sixteen

Six Weeks Later

Things had returned to some semblance of normalcy in Gina’s life. Both Monique and Rasheed had miraculously survived their horrible injuries. However, Monique was on a life support system to help her breath. Gina would visit them often. She spent several thousand dollars on gifts like flowers and Teddy Bears. Ms. Hattie May had custody of Malcolm. There was a big public outcry for the perpetrator of the hideous crime to be caught. There had been a lot of racial overtones involved in the case of the mysterious white woman, Georgia May, AKA, Game. Although she was pregnant, she seemed to have just disappeared into thin air.

Occasionally the media would drive by Gina’s modest seven bedroom five bath brown stone mini-mansion and snap pictures hoping to catch a photo of the Queen Pen. This was nothing unusual in the affluent neighborhood since there were celebrities that lived in the same proximity, such as Russell Simons and Ja Rule. The rapper Fabolous stayed a few houses down with his pregnant girlfriend. He had once stopped to pay Gina a visit under the pretense of considering signing with DieHard Records, but Gina learned later, after burning a blunt of purple Kush with the handsome rapper, he had other ulterior motives in mind and one of them was he wanted to get into her panties. He did a damn good job trying, had it not been for his pregnant baby mama and of course her new lover, Anthony Brown, she knew without a doubt in her mind she would have gave him some play. From time to time she allowed Anthony Brown to spend nights in her bedroom but decided against letting him move in, over the past few weeks his health had improved considerably and so did their sex life. For a forty year old man he had a lot of sexual stamina and a creative imagination. He loved to eat pussy and that was fine with Gina, she couldn’t get enough of him sexually.

There were never any criminal charges filed against her but her lover Anthony continued to be under constant scrutiny. There was an ongoing investigation, he was suspended without pay as Captain Brooks continued to fabricate lies to the media, saying that Brown worked for Gina, and being that she and Jack were potential suspects in a laundry list of crimes including several unsolved murders, Brown had violated the police fraternity code of ethics in doing so. There was no such rule or law. Brown had assured Gina that he would quit the force but only on his terms, even though Gina had offered him a large amount of money, in the seven figures, to start up his own security firm. Brown wanted to quit the police force on his terms and not under the coercion of Captain Brooks. The two of them were still beefing.

“Men!”

Gina had a staff of two at the mansion. A Mexican Gardner named Uno, who was in his late 40’s and hardly spoke any English.
